A new tariff of electricity distribution rates for Grimsby Power has been approved by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). These come into effect on March 1, 2012. The cost of power remains unchanged. The new tariff only affects the distribution charges of electricity to the consumer. The details of the Rate Order issued by the OEB, including details of the new rates, are posted on this website under the Regulatory section. For residences using approximately 800 kWh per month, the average bill increase will be 3-4%. The monthly fixed distribution charge of $15.11/month remains unchanged; however, the variable rate increases to $0.0116/kWh, from $0.0086/kWh. In addition, there are temporary rider charges to recover costs associated wtih smart meter installations.
